Assam being the gateway to North East India enjoys a strategic position in terms of economic activities and business bustle. Moreover, the geographical proximity of Assam with the South East Asian countries makes it more profitable for businesses to trade various agro-based food products such as black rice, brown rice, ginger, pineapple etc. Further, the recent initiatives taken by the Government under the Act East Policy has lent additional confidence to this movement.
