Chalo Hoppo is dedicated to creating tourism movement in North East India by spreading awareness about the region and ensuring tourist influx from across the globe. The startup provides alternative stay options like traditional homestays and campsites to offer the ultimate local experience to the tourists. It eyes on an inclusive growth model with a focus on sustainibility by including the locals in the plan.
Despite the fact that North East India is a treasure trove for tourism, the conspicuous lack of stay facilities and experiential guides who could conduct exclusive activities have been responsible for the minimal growth of tourism in the region. Although the demand is high, lack of standard infrastructure thwarts supply.
Chalo Hoppo works on creating traditional homestays with modern facilities in the remotest corners of Northeast India to serving the basic needs of the tourists. They curate activities around those rural stays where the cultural exchange happens. For example, conducting trekking expedition with the villagers, involving the tourists in the daily life of the villagers by participating in their chores, like collecting firewood for cooking and learning to make traditional recipes, etc., participating in storytelling sessions with the village elders, going for open jeep rhododendron safari, and many more. The startup also sets up camps around popular festivals organised in the interior areas of North East India. Besides, it creates customized itineraries for wanderers and educational institutions.
