Bootcamp on the Basics of Finance for COHORT 4.0

Financials could be brain-freezing for founders; nevertheless, it’s the most crucial aspect of running a business. Rescuing the startup founders from the brain rack were Mr. Dwijadas Chatterjee (Sr. Mgmt. Professional in Corporate Finance) and Mr. Debapratim Das (CFO, IIM Calcutta Innovation Park), during a 2-day bootcamp on the “Basics of Finance” for COHORT 4.0 on September 20 & 21, 2023.

On Day 1, jargon like Unit Economics, Breakeven Analysis, Profit, Revenue, and Costs were simplified into lucid explanations with illustrations by Mr. Chatterjee. The IIMCIP CFO took charge of the second day’s proceedings, breaking down the critical financial concepts of Cash Flow Management, Valuation Drivers, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and Balance Sheet Analysis for easier understanding of the startup founders.  

Further, Mr. Debasish Gangopadhyay from Assam Gramin Vikas Bank came to The Nest for a special session, sharing valuable information about bank schemes designed to support startups.
